Control WS2812 Led Strips for 68 linear meters

Dear,
First of all, great thanks to have this kind of software to do what we want to do with lights
My name is Oliver. I'm working on a project to animate 68 linear meters of spi rgb led strips with 30 WS2812 IC for 30 Leds / meter... In fact, I've got one row of 30x68 = 2040 Pixels.
Those pixels go behind sofas in a nightclub.
We already bought the strips in China, power supplies also and a LM-501 Controller which works with ART-NET protocol and especially madrix software.
Guess this controller makes conversion beetween ART-NET and SPI.
Anyway, Just want to know first if MADRIX ENTRY is enough to do animation for 2040 Pixels.
Second, could you please indicate me the best way to configure MADRIX to do this, because this is not an array, this is not 3D either, but only a 68 meters line...
We can create really good effects, but don't know how to begin
Any help would be appreciate !
Thanks to all.
Oliver

Hello olivier,
Welcome to the MADRIX forum.
.
When you want to control 2040 RGB pixels with MADRIX and send it via Art-Net to the desired interface you will need a MADRIX KEY basic. Because you need 6120 channels (2040 pixels x 3 channels for RGB per pixel). That's are 12 DMX Universes (6120 DMX channels in total / 512 channels per DMX universe).
A MADRIX KEY basic will unlocks the DMX and Art-Net output for 16 DMX universes.
.
Regarding the patch: In casse of your description I would recommend to patch one long line of pixels across the X axis in MADRIX.
After patching the fixtures the Patch Size will be 2040 x 1 in MADRIX.

Thanks a lot for these words
Anyway, I will download right now MADRIX to test my hardware first.
Than I will listen to you and buy MADRIX basic.
Hope this will work well.
Is Madrix able to drive moving heads and strobes in DMX ?
If yes, I will use only MADRIX instead of using freestyler and MADRIX.
I will be back here when I 'll create the patch. Because I even don't know what is a patch
Thanks a lot
Oliver

Hello olivier,
.
Of course MADRIX is sending DMX data to the fixtures but MADRIX was desigend to control the color of the fixtures in a MADRIX typical way.
What you can do in case of controlling RGB moving heads is to control the movement with another console, the colors with MADRIX, merge the data together and send the merged signal to the moving head.
.
If you don't know how you can create a patch in MADRIX, please have a look to the following tutorials:

Hi Oliver,
I have a LM501 here too but can't seem to get output when I send artnet via Madrix, can you share your settings to me please?
best regards,
Eric

Eric,
Tried to setup as they told me in china, but I didn't succeed...
I've also tried with other software (Jinx), with no success...
I can't understand... I will try with another controller.
Do you have the settings manual ?
If not, I can send it to you by mail.
Best
Olivier
