Live record to timeline using dmx?

Hey there!
I have a lighting console connected to Madrix 5 on my laptop. I can control the looks no problem. But I want to be able to create a timeline with music, click "record", and then use my console to change looks and have them saved to the timeline.
I can click Record and the music plays, but anything I input doesn't record onto the timeline. Is there a way to do this? I'm hoping to do some busking to get my initial looks into the program.

Hi Avocado,
The workflow you try to apply only partly works. The effects will be recorded, but the Timeline view will not be populated.
I recommend to load the audio track in the timeline, play back the track and then create markers in the timeline using the "m" key shortcut.
Now you can arrange your effects according to the markers. If you drag&drop a Storage Place onto the Timeline it will snap to the marker where you released it.
I totally understand that you want to use the haptic of the lighting desk, but this only partly works.

Can you elaborate? When you say "The effects will be recorded", which effects and where do they get recorded? Making markers and dragging in looks sounds like I am not using the console at all and just using the software entirely.

Hi Avocado,
If you start the record in the Timeline and you switch Storage Places in MADRIX 5 remotely, the effects are being recorded, but you won't see the arrangement in the timeline.

- Yes, you won't need the console at all. The Timelines function is designed to do everything in MADRIX 5.
