understanding group control

When I have 2 fixtures sharing the same pixel in the patch editor (with overlap active) and I assign both of them to separate groups I'm not able to control them independently by the group faders...? Am I doing something wrong? If not and this is wanted behaviour: could it be improved?

Thank you for your input.
At the moment it is not possible to control two overlapping fixtures on the same position with two fixture groups independently.
We will discuss this feature request with the developers.
