Control Madrix via midi from Daslight

Post by vlad12 »

Hello

I make light installation in night club. There are 6 moving heads, 8 led pars and LED dance floor. moving heads and pars I'm controlling through daslight software, led dance floor by Madrix (I've got 8 out Art net port
http://led-teko.com/news-page/teko-comp ... artnet-8ca)

Daslight has function to trigger scenes from dry port. I've made box with 8 buttons for triggering ports and connected it to Daslight usb interface. So it's working fine. I can launch scenes from Daslight pressing buttons on my box.

But my aim is to make Daslight send commands to MADRIX on the same computer when I send commands to Daslight via dry ports (pushing buttons). I know that Madrix can receive midi data. But I do not have midi controller. I know that I can receive midi commands from virtual midi patch cord like MIDI YOKI. I've installed it to my computer and Madrix displays it in it's preferences. But how send midi data from Daslight? I can not send DMX data from daslight to Madrix since I use Art net interface with 8 outputs, no inputs.

So please give me some advice.

Thank's in advance

Hello vlad12.
Welcome to the MADRIX forum!
.
I don't know exactly if Daslight can send data via a virtual MIDI cable like the MIDI YOKI. MADRIX can receive the MIDI data which will be sended by MIDI YOKI. To receive the MIDI Data please go in MADRIX to "Preferences > Device Manager > MIDI" now you can see the several MIDI devices. Please select one and click "Enable" and "Remote". In the next step you have to choose a MIDI Configuration like describted in the following tutorial:
http://help.madrix.com/tutorials/html/i ... _midi.html
.
If there is not the right configuration in the list, you have to create an own one like described in the link:
http://help.madrix.com/tutorials/html/i ... i_map.html
.
If there is no possibility to send the data via a virtual MIDI cable and you have no DMX Input port, you can buy the MADRIX USBone:
http://www.madrix.com/en/home/products/usbone.html
With this DMX interface and a 5pin XLR male-male adapter you have the possibility to receive data via "DMX In".
.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again!
Thank you.
