Controllable Transforms from Lighting Console

Post by pjveltri »

Hi there,

It would be absolutely wonderful if I could move mapped sections around on my 2d installation with my lighting console.

I want to be able to take 3 pixels of red and move it around within a lighting cue, for example, making an area of LED look like it is following a person around who is walking in front of it.

At the moment, I have to write a color cue to turn the section on, then write a moving color cue that is perfectly timed in both duration and BPM/Rate within the setup, and then I have to write a final position cue, it would be much faster for me to just move it around with an x/y control from the console.

If we go this far, scale and size/zoom would also be wonderful to have. Being able to have a full patch sized color setup and manipulate it would be awesome!

Everyone I show this software to, at least in the theatrical world, wants to be able to do this.

It seems like most other Pixel Mapping software has this function, and it would be wonderful if we could have this too!

Hello pjveltri,
.
Thank you for the feedback. We will discuss it with the developers.
.
At the moment you can create a "Macro" for the layer which offers this functionality. Have a look to the following link to learn more about the MADRIX Script:
http://help.madrix.com/m3/html/script/index.html
.
At the "List Of Functions":
http://help.madrix.com/m3/html/script/i ... tions.html
you can see there is a function called "MapDlgSetMapPixel". With this function you can set the mapped layer to a desired position.
Also at the list is a function that's called "GetDmxInChannel". This function allows you to interpret the incomming DMX signals.
.
We offer the possibility to create such a script but that's not for free.
.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again!
Thank you.

How does one use MapDlgPixelGetMapPixel() to give the x,y,w & h a starting value?

Thanks for the help on this project,

I ended up writing a pretty script to make segments of LED controllable by the dmx on the console.

Here's a link to a video: http://player.vimeo.com/video/93635642? ... portrait=0
