DMX-IN not responding

Post by Rockhouse »

I am using a Luna 16 and are using all 16 Universes. I have a Madrix Basic license. I am unable to get the DMX input to work. I have followed all instructions online and in the help. What am I missing? Is it a limitation of the channels or is the DMX-IN not a part of the channel limit.

Hello Rockhouse,
Welcome to the MADRIX forum.
.
The DMX-IN is not a componet of the MADRIX license. That means you can use the DMX Input everytime in MADRIX.
.
Have you connected the LUNA and the PC via USB or Art-Net?
If it is connected via USB you have to connect the DMX output of the desired console with the Input port of the LUNA 16. Now please go in MADRIX to "Preferences > Device Manager". In the "DMX Devices" tab of the "Device Manager" you will find a row "MADRIX LUNA 16 - DMX In". Please select this row and click the "Enable" checkbox and then "Apply". Now switch to the "DMX Input" tab, select a desired DMX Input universe (usually universe 1), select the LUNA 16 as "DMX-IN Device", enable "Remote" and choose the deisred "Remote Protocol".
.
If the LUNA is connected via Art-Net please go also to the "Device Manger" in MADRIX. First you have have to switch to the "Art-Net" tab and "Enable" Art-Net. Now go back to the "DMX Device" tab and "Enable" the Art-Net" Remote. Please perform a double click on the Device Name "Art-Net Remote". A new window (the Art-Net Device Configuration) opens. In this window you have to change some settings. First you have to set the right universe for the DMX input. Therefor please go to "Universe Port OUT" and change it to the desired universe. The Default DMX-IN universe of the LUNA is 256. In the next step you have to set the correct IP-Address. When you work in
"Direct IP Mode" you have to set the IP Address of the LUNA. You will find the IP Address of the LUNA on the back side of the interface or with the help of the "LUNA Configuration" in MADRIX ("Tools > LUNA Configuration..."). If you work in "Broadcast Mode" it is not necessary to set an IP-Address.
After you have set up the desired settings please click "OK" and switch to the "DMX Input" tab, select a desired DMX Input universe (usually universe 1), select the "Art-Net Remote" as "DMX-IN Device", enable "Remote" and choose the deisred "Remote Protocol".
.
