SCE Video - No loop / Ping pong

Post by qniens »

Dear Madrix,

The SCE Video effects doesn't loop/ping pong in Madrix 5.
It always stops at the end, whatever choice your make.

Expected behavior: Take the playback setting from the playback button (as in Madrix 3)

Madrix build: 5.0.0.30

Hello qniens,

Thank you for reporting this bug.
We can reproduce the bug here in the office with some of the video formats.

As workaround can you please change the video decoder from "Auto" to "Direct Show"? Is it now possible to loop the video?
You can easily change the video decoder by pressing the "Decoder Selection" button at the "SCE Video" effect. This button is the third button after the "video name" line and by default labeled with "Auto".

Can you please tell us what video formats you want to playback?

Hi Guertler,

If I change the decoder selection it will give the following error:

Hi qniens,

If you changed the decoder to 'Direct Show', the error could mean that the correct video codec is not yet installed on your system. Could you please install a video codec pack and try again?

Learn more here:

Thank you.

The video is a Quicktime .mov file. And Quicktime is installed on the PC.
Could this be an other bug?

I tried it with a WMV file with Direct Show and then the file loops as expected.

Please note the release notes of MADRIX 5:
'SCE Video: Removed the QuickTime API and replaced it with the Windows Media Foundation [since QuickTime does not offer 64-bit support].
(#2539, #2949, #2973)'

QuickTime may be installed on the PC, but cannot be used anymore by MADRIX 5.
Now, it comes down to the installed codecs. The mov file format is just a container format. The video within is encoded with a specific video codec.

I have the same problem, the .mov does not do the loop in madrix 5, but it does that to madrix 3.

Hello everybody,

The this problem should be solved with MADRIX 5.0b.
You can download the latest version of MADRIX under the following link:
