Recording MREC Out of sync
Recording MREC Out of sync
Dear Madrix,
If you make a recording and then play it back, it will not be in sync with the original content.
A made a very simple Madrix setup that displays the problem.
I recorded just a metronome video playing. (Recording on 25fps).
Then I placed the recorded mrec over the original video, I made sure both video contents start at the same place. As you can see content doesn't align.
I work with a artist you makes live content on Madrix that we want to record, and match it with the music it was created on. With this issue this is not possible.
Demo file with the problem:

Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thanks

Re: Recording MREC Out of sync
Hi,
At the moment Videos will not be played back synchronized in MADRIX 5. Every video layer is playing his own video, without the knowledge of the other one. MADRIX 5 only starts all layers at the same time. I have noticed that your .mrec file differs from the original video (black frames at the beginning), this may increase asynchronity. Therefore please convert your video "Metronome 60 BPM.mp4" once again into an .mrec file. Being said that sync issues may be lower, when playing back videos, which have the same file format.
I modified your setup to show you different workarounds to reduce asynchronity:
1) To use the mapping/tiling options of MADRIX 5 and two "masking" layers. You can find an example at Storage Place 3 in the modified setup.
2) To use the same video (same file format) within two layers and the mapping options (like you already did before, but with two different file formats/files). You can find an example at Storage Place 4 in the modified setup.
Please copy the attached "record.mrec" video into the path "C:\Users\[Your Username]\Documents\MADRIX5\records" before loading the setup.
I hope this helps you!

Re: Recording MREC Out of sync
Dear chulze,
Thank you for the extended reply.
I didn't now the advanced tiling options.
But... I made the setup to have a way to showcase the sync problem.
I'm aware of the the black frames in the beginning of the mrec recording.
In the video effect it begins on 00:00:01:21, the same frame as the first frame of the video.
If you enable audio it is even more clear that after a few seconds the mrec is lagging behind. The mrec is probably playing to slow.
After +- 40 secs it is completely off.
An other way to illustrate the problem:
You can also capture the external preview of the mrec and then import it into a video edit program. Lay it on top of the original video and you will see it lagging / playing to slow.

Re: Recording MREC Out of sync
Dear Schulze,
Did you already address the issue with the developers?
We are still struggling you to capture a live Madrix session and then how to play it back in sync with the music.
Thank you,
Quinten

Hello qniens,
The developers are already informed and they are searching for a solution.
But at the moment I can't say when we can release a fix for this problem.

Re: Recording MREC Out of sync
Hi Guertler,
Is there any update on this issue? We are still having problems with the MREC file. A record of two minutes drifts by with a extra 10 seconds(!)
Hopefully a fix for this can be included on the next update release.
